and away we go...

Never had it occurred to me to create and write my own blog, naively assuming that blogs were essentially for your philosophically deep-in-thought hipsters.  I felt intimidated.  However, my dull judgement was soon to be transformed into an enlightened understanding of the true essence of a blog and that of the blogger.  It all changed when my dear digs mate Ashleigh began her blog The Sometimes Chef based purely on her love and passion for food, cooking, tasting and all things delicious.  I felt inspired by this as it showed me that blogs are actually wonderful things where anyone, anywhere is free to express and show the world absolutely anything they fancy.  I now know that blogs are also for the free-at-heart ditzes.

On that note, I am delighted to say that I have created my very own blog in which I can bang on about absolutely anything I fancy.  A broad subject indeed as I admittedly do have a wide range of fancies, but then again that's the beauty of it.  Often I find myself dreamily thinking "this is how life should be lived" whenever I'm doing or seeing something that leaves me feeling completely enchanted.  My interests in fashion, decorating, photography, innovations, creativity and the french language along with all the wonderfully whimsical, happy, quirky, peaceful, loving, sweet & quaint things in life are responsible for that particular wonderful feeling, which is why I revel in the idea of writing about them!  I hope too that you, my prospective followers will be inspired and excited by these things.

"On a Whim," is the notion of a capricious idea or fancy, an arbitary thought or impulse, so it seemed a well suited name for my blog as it reflects my other great love of spontaneity, which is what often takes me to the previously mentioned gem places in my life.  They're like little nooks in which I want to always remain, so here's to On a Whim because I can now stay for as long as I please as I ponder a little longer.
